About Us

Proud to be President of AACP

Association of Air Conditioning Professionals sm

All of us at James A. Wheat & Sons are proud to be members of the Association of Air Conditioning Professionals (AACP), formerly the Air Conditioning Contractors of America National Capital Chapter (ACCA – NCC). We’re even more proud of one of our own, Michael Wheat, for being named President of the AACP in January 2015. We look forward to continuing to provide state-of-the-art service to all of our wonderful clients in the DC metro area. Contact us today to learn more about the AACP and about our services!

Why Use James A. Wheat & Sons?

Our company is family owned and operated. This statement can mean several things to different people. Let us tell you what that statement means to us. Not only are we family owned and operated, the company name is our name. When we provide services for you, we are attaching our personal name to that service. Therefore, we put special attention to each job because our own name is on it.

When we say family, we mean family. Our employees are part of that family. We have the best mechanics available. Honest, hardworking, always striving to give you the plumbing, heating or cooling service you deserve. Each technician is either in training to reach his or her certification or is already licensed and continuing his education. You can never have over-trained mechanics.

Our company is ”just the right size.” We are small enough to know your name but large enough to handle any problem you have. Whether you are in Montgomery County, Maryland or Washington, DC, our plumbing and HVAC technicians are always nearby. Our company is growing, but at our own pace; keeping track of who and where we came from to make sure you get your plumbing, heating and cooling services whenever you need us rather than having to wait for weeks just to schedule an appointment.

What are the Benefits of Working with James A. Wheat & Sons?

Licensed and insured. This should be a given. However, check with other plumbing and HVAC contractors and you will be surprised to see how many are not certified. With our plumbing, heating and air conditioning experts, you will always receive professional service.

By the book. James A. Wheat & Sons, Inc. installs all plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems, materials and equipment to manufacturers´ specifications and has its work inspected when code requires.

Drug free. Our technicians and office staff are drug-free. We perform random and pre-employment testing to ensure our staff is drug-free, allowing you to feel comfortable with them in your home and with your family.

Factory authorized. Approved by Carrier as being the “best of the best,” James A. Wheat & Sons has received better training and support from Carrier and has proven to provide better customer service than the average HVAC dealer. Whether you need help with a duct cleaning, bathroom remodeling, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, gas fireplace or an energy audit, we always offer 100% satisfaction guarantee to ensure you are always happy with our services.

NATE certified. North American Technician Excellence (NATE) is a certification that HVAC technicians can acquire once they achieve proper training, testing, and knowledge of their trade. Very similar to ASSE certified auto mechanics, NATE certification gives you added comfort and peace of mind that the technician is performing the heating and air conditioning installations, inspections and repairs properly and to your standards.

Beyond code. Many heating and air conditioning companies state that they perform their jobs to local code. The definition of code is the minimum requirements to allow a job to pass inspection. At James A. Wheat & Sons, we believe that code is a starting point. We perform all of our work to local and national codes, but offer and suggest options and an installation process that go well beyond code.

Beyond your expectations! We understand the image our industry portrays. At James A. Wheat & Sons, we are trying to change that image one job at a time. Our technicians arrive to your home in a clean, pressed uniform, always wear protective shoe covers and use drop cloths to protect your home while they install, inspect or repair your plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems.

Customer satisfaction. Since we are a family owned operation, we are a small enough company to care about each customer, but are a large enough company to take care of any problem and stand behind our word and work. Whether you need to remodel your bathroom, clean your air ducts, install a gas fireplace, receive air conditioning or heating services or be given an energy audit, James A. Wheat & Sons offers 100% satisfaction guaranteed on all our services! Contact us today to schedule an appointment.
