Attention PEPCO customers: free trees are still available as part of PEPCO’s Energy Saving Trees program! Energy Saving Trees is a pilot program that helps customers conserve energy through strategic tree planting in their communities.
The Energy Saving Trees program, which kicked off on September 26th, is part of a partnership between PEPCO and the Arbor Day Foundation and has been providing free trees to customers throughout Washington, DC as well as Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. So far 2,400 trees have been given out, and they’re looking to give out many more before the program ends this weekend!
The goal of the program is to help customers conserve energy through strategic tree planting. On their website, you can find resources that will help you learn the best places to plant your new trees, both in terms of energy savings and safety. You can also receive an estimate of the annual savings you can expect when your new tree starts to get big! These resources and many more can be found at www.arborday.org/pepco.
If you want to get in on this, you’d better hurry – the program ends November 12th! For more information, call James A. Wheat & Sons today!
